TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:

This is a lateral transfer opportunity. In order to be eligible, you must be permanent and past probation in the title of Caseworker. Vacancies occur regularly in the title of Caseworker in the Tompkins County Social Services and Mental Health departments. Hiring managers will be viewing lateral transfer candidates on an on-going basis. Preference in appointment may be given to candidates who are eligible for lateral transfer.

Along with completing the Tompkins County electronic employment application, you must also provide a copy of: 1) your civil service roster record (shows dates of employment and civil service status), 2) the current job description, and 3) the exam announcement from the test which you received your permanent appointment. Community Health Services is hiring for a Community Health Nurse. This position involves working in communicable disease surveillance and doing home visits for our maternal child health program. The position also involves working in our immunization clinic and rotating on-call. We welcome applicants with a desire to work in prevention-focused programs to support overall community health.

Tompkins County Mental Health has an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and is looking to fill this position with a qualified applicant as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, therapists, community mental health nurses and rehabilitation specialists to provide excellent, comprehensive behavioral health treatment to a diverse range of individuals. An interest in community mental health and working with the severe and persistently mentally ill would be welcome. TCMH prioritizes both supervision and training and these will be provided to a successful candidate so as to support their practice in the Clinic and further career development. Director of Engineering oversees and manages the Engineering Department, which is located at Public Works Facility, 114 Seven Mile Drive, Ithaca. Director is responsible for providing professional engineering advice to the Town Board and oversees the infrastructure capital improvement plan, SWPPPlan administration and manages the work of 6 staff.  

This is a temporary position assisting with the Town of Lansing Day Camp programs.

The Town of Ulysses provides a dynamic range of services to our constituents as well as investing in and safeguarding the Town’s assets. The position will work very closely with the Town Supervisor and Town Bookkeeper, and be primarily involved in administrative support for the Supervisors’ Office.  This includes project management, procurement, and budgetary processes, with other opportunities and duties as new needs emerge. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, administrative and communication skills; has experience managing data and/or budgets; and is detail oriented. Training can be provided to complement existing skills or build new ones.
