The half-time Family Housing Case Aide will support the Family Housing Coordinator by maintaining accurate family records, tracking phone calls, appointments, and housing assistance applications, including Section 8 and other grant programs. This role involves managing schedules, assisting with clerical functions such as data entry, correspondence, and filing, and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing confidential information while supporting the needs of families seeking housing assistance.

TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:

This is a lateral transfer opportunity. In order to be eligible, you must be permanent and past probation in the title of Caseworker. Vacancies occur regularly in the title of Caseworker in the Tompkins County Social Services and Mental Health departments. Hiring managers will be viewing lateral transfer candidates on an on-going basis. Preference in appointment may be given to candidates who are eligible for lateral transfer.

Tompkins County Mental Health has an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and is looking to fill this position with a qualified applicant as soon as possible. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, therapists, community mental health nurses and rehabilitation specialists to provide excellent, comprehensive behavioral health treatment to a diverse range of individuals. An interest in community mental health and working with the severe and persistently mentally ill would be welcome. TCMH prioritizes both supervision and training and these will be provided to a successful candidate so as to support their practice in the Clinic and further career development. Candidates of all levels of experience are encouraged to apply.  We are an approved NHSC Loan Repayment Site.

The Long Term Care Ombudsman Project Assistant is responsible for regularly visiting Long Term Care facilities.  Responsibilities include investigating and working to resolve resident concerns about quality of care and quality of life.  Additionally the Long Term Care Ombudsman Project Assistant will educate residents about the Long Term Care Ombudsman program and advocate on their behalf.  The successful candidate will be provided training and certified as an ombudsman prior to visiting facilities.  This individual will primarily be visiting both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities in Chemung and Schuyler counties.  Use of the county car and/or mileage reimbursement is available.  State mandated on-going trainings and documentation related to visits are required of this position.  Driver’s license and basic computer skills are also required.

Position is for Greater Tompkins County Municipal Health Insurance Consortium (Consortium) located at 408 E. Upland Road, Ithaca.

Consortium is a shared services organization which provides member municipalities with health insurance options. 

A person in this position should be dedicated to high quality customer service by being compassionate, tenacious at problem solving, enjoy investigating and assisting with benefits administration issues and have a high degree of attention to details.  An employee in this position will assist the Benefits Manager in the responsibility for analyzing, planning, developing, publicizing, problem solving and administering health insurance and wellness programs for the 75+ member municipalities of the Consortium.  

The position will primarily provide important, free and direct positive youth development  programming to 5th-8th graders after school and during the summer.  Positive youth development focuses on providing an inclusive, supportive environment for youth.  Programmatic priorities and specific activities will be developed in cooperation with youth, the Youth Commission, and Town staff. Administrative assistance will be provided to this position, allowing the employee to primarily focus on direct service provision. Primary service hours are between 2:30-5pm, with flexibility on total number of weekly hours. Experience working with and engaging youth is strongly preferred and additional training and support will be provided.   Applicants will be interviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.  Desired start date is January 6, 2025.
